In 1982 Arnie Brandon purchased a new DeLorean automobile. Feeling very alone because the factory in Ireland had shut down and US dealers were disbanding, Arnie wanted to find others who shared his passion. So he put together a list of other DeLorean owners by talking to dealers in the Seattle area and stopping DeLoreans he saw driving down the road.
He sent out invitations, and twelve DeLoreans showed up for the first meeting of the Pacific Northwest DeLorean Club in February 1983. The club decided to make Greg McDonald the first president and publish a newsletter, club rosters, and aftermarket parts lists. PNDC also began holding regular gatherings and celebrations.
On December 8, 1992, PNDC was established as a non-profit corporation in the state of Washington.
We have about 100 members – more than half of the 175 known DeLoreans in the Northwest.
We hold gatherings each year to celebrate the DeLorean heritage and bring the community together. Here are some of the events we hold:
- Parades, drives, and car shows like the Blarney Ball Rally and the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Seattle.
- Tech sessions to exchange technical expertise, share parts, and help each other maintain our DeLoreans.
